Ex-Meralco import shot dead in Dallas

Former NBA player and Meralco Bolts import Andre Emmett was shot and killed on early Monday morning in Dallas.
The body of the 37-year-old cager was found lying on the side of the road with a gunshot wound.
The Dallas Fire Rescue rushed Emmett to the hospital but he was pronounced dead later on.
There is still no suspect identified by police in the killing.
According to a report by Abante, the news of Emmett’s passing came as a shock to Meralco coach Norman Black.
Emmett played for the team during the 2015 PBA Governors Cup. He even helped the team reached the quarterfinals before ti was defeated by San Miguel Beer team.
In a separate statement, Meralco team manager Paolo Trillo extended their condolences to Emmett’s family.
Emmett was also the No. 36 pick in the 2004 NBA draft. He played for one season with Memphis Grizzlies and New Jersey Nets.
He was also a star player of Texas Tech under coach Bobby Knight.
