F2 Logistics wrested the Philippine SuperLiga All-Filipino Conference after dominating Cignal HD, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19 in Game 2 of their best-of-three title series on Monday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
F2 Logistics completed a clean sweep by following up their hard-earned win in Game 1, 25-22, 26-24, 18-25, 17-25, 15-8.
The victory finally erased the stigma of a bitter past that saw F2 Logistics losing two straight championship showdown against Petron in the same conference.
“I’m really thankful. This is such an indescribable feeling. I actually never felt this way before. So much love, so much support. It’s a great accomplishment for me and my team,” said F2 Logistics’ Mau said in a tv5.espn.com report.
Mau, who was named the conference’s Most Valuable Player, led the champion squad with a game-high 19 points, 17 on attacks.
Kim Dy chipped 13 points, including four blocks while Ara Galang and Majoy Baron added a combined for 12 points.
Jovelyn Gonzaga paced Cignal with nine points, while Alohi Robins-Hardy added seven to go with 20 excellent sets.
Joining Mau in the Dream Team were Cignal’s Alohi Robins-Hardy (best setter), Rachell Ann Daquis (1st best outside spiker), and Jeck Dionela (best libero); Foton’s twin towers Dindin Santiago-Manabat (best opposite spiker) and Jaja Santiago (1st best middle blocker); Petron’s Sisi Rondina (2nd best outside spiker) and F2’s Majoy Baron (2nd best middle blocker).
