Jordan Clarkson won’t play anymore for Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup

It’s still a no for Filipino-American NBA player Jordan Clarkson to battle alongside Gilas Pilipinas Team for the FIBA World Cup next week.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, head coach Yeng Guiao said it’s too late for Clarkson to join them at this time.

Guiao added that FIBA has not changed its mind on Clarkson’s eligibility to join the team.

Under FIBA rules, only one naturalized player per team is allowed.

Clarkson may only be allowed to play for the Philippines in FIBA tournaments as a naturalized player. But Gilas already has Andray Blatche as their one naturalized player in the team’s lineup.

In spite of that, the Clarkson family will be rooting for the team’s win.

According to the Clarkson patriarch Mark, Jordan has been preparing for the event that it will be his time for a ‘call of duty’. But he also emphasized that his son is not a ‘selfish player’ and he doesn’t want to be the disruption for the team.
