The Philippine Basketball Association is open to all possibilities in holding more bubble games in more venues in the country, including one out of the country event in Dubai, reported ABS-CBN News.
Bubble game, like what the NBA is currently doing gather all players, coaches and team/league personnel packed into one place — with COVID-19 testing assuring that none have been infected with the virus, of course — and not let any non-essential people in, it could preserve the health and safety for all involved.
PBA chairman Ricky Vargas said that among the possible venues that Vargas mentioned was the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna, as well as Araneta Center.
Vargas said that a bubble is also possible at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
“They have communicated with us and they’re asking for the requirements,” PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said in its website.
The Dubai arena is no longer new to PBA events. The basketball league played a double-header in October 2019 that featured NLEX vs. San Miguel and NLEX vs. Barangay Ginebra.
Baguio and El Nido, Palawan are also possible hosts for the basketball league. PBA announces that trainings will resume this week and actual games may start in October.
