BREAKING: Tokyo Olympics 2020 postponed until next year

The 2020 Olympic Games scheduled for Tokyo will be delayed until 2021.
Japan, the host country, asked the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach to postpone the international meet for one year due to COVID-19 pandemic.

“I proposed to postpone for about a year and president Bach responded with 100 percent agreement,” Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Tuesday.
Earlier, International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound revealed that the Olympics will be cancelled because of coronavirus.
“On the basis of the information the IOC has, postponement has been decided,” Pound revealed.

“The parameters have not been determined but the Games are not going to start on July 24, that much I know.”
Athletes across the world has urged to postpone the Games as they were unable to take part in qualifying events and trainings due to the travel restrictions imposed by many countries amid the spread of the highly contagious virus.
