The cult favorite Classic Blue was hailed last December 4 as color of the year for 2020 by the American color company Pantone for being the ‘solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on’.
Depicting the hue of our limitless sky, Pantone confirmed that Classic Blue was already used in fashion and beauty packaging to home decor, product items and even food and will carry on for the next 12 months.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute shares that living in this generation requires trust and faith for one another and Pantone 19-4052 exudes this expression of confidence and dependability.
“Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking; challenging us to think more deeply, increase our perspective and open the flow of communication,” Eiseman said.
The turn-up of 2019’s ‘animating and life-affirming’ Living Coral shade was the complete opposite of 2020’s Classic Blue that portrays ‘a reassuring presence instilling calm, confidence and connection.’
Since 2000, the New Jersey-based color company choses a color for the year based ‘what is taking place in our global culture at a moment in time’ through a trend-forecast research led by the Pantone Color Institute.
