Study reveals top property location choices of OFW Millennials

More and more OFW Millennials are now beginning to explore their options of owning a property back home as their form of investment according to a recent study.

According to Lamudi’s recent study titled “The Market Outside the Philippines” as part of their Digital Property Seeker Series for 2018, Filipino expats aged 18-24 comprise 7.3% while 25-34 form the huge 31.9% for a total of 39.2% of the inquiries for property seekers at the website Lamudi.com.ph

With the upcoming Philippine Property and Investment Exhibition 2019 set to take place at the JW Marriott Hotel in Deira, this April 26-27, Filipino millennials and expats based in the UAE can further bolster their search for the best property that would suit their needs.

“In terms of age, those who are in the 25-34 year old bracket generated the most traffic an inquiries. Probably the most tech savvy when it comes to using the real estate portal to search for properties, the 25 to 34-year-old millennials outnumber the other age groups when it comes to inquiries and page views since many of them are at that stage in their life when they are hoping to establish permanent residencies and start their own families,” the study reads.

The study likewise outlines five places in the Philippines where millennials and other age groups in general seek new residences. The top five locations are as follows:

Quezon City (10.9% of inquiries)

Makati (7.8% of inquiries)

Taguig (4.9% of inquiries)

Cebu (4.7% of inquiries)

Parañaque (4.5% of inquiries)

“These cities play host to a number of business establishments such as BPO firms and offer an array of lifestyle and recreational hubs, including an array of restaurants and bars, as well as malls and fitness centers,” as per the study.

The study also found out that many OFWs prefer searching for houses (39.9% of inquiries), followed by condominiums (28.1% of inquiries) and then Lands (20.1% of inquiries).
