Ezra Couture stages jaw-dropping couture collection at 2019 Harbin Fashion Week

by | Lifestyle

Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer Ezra Santos has once again showcased his over-the-top talent and craftsmanship to the world during the opening of the Harbin Fashion Week 2019, a prestigious semi-annual fashion week, held in Harbin, China.

The event features amazing fashion designers from all over the world, and Santos was among those who staged shows that exhibited couture collections that are all about contemporary fashion.

Santos told The Filipino Times that he drew inspiration from the fashion trends of the 1930s and gave his own take on it.
“The collection in Harbin Fashion Week is inspired by the glamorous 1930s with a modern twist,” Santos said.

His collection boasts cohesive couture pieces that capture the classic and elegant style of that era mixed with uniqueness of the modern times.

“The colors are in off-white and nude with a lot of embellishments of beads and Swarovski crystals, accessorized with 1930s-inspired net-veiled hats,” Santos said.

The Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer added that he was able to capture the 1930s vibes through his pieces by using the silhouettes commonly used during that time and adding full skirts with lots of layers of petticoats, as well as figure hugging serpentine dresses which were all popular back then.

“It’s a wonderful feeling when the collection is more appreciated abroad. I was the one who opened the Harbin Fashion Week and everyone loved the collection. I just can’t thank God enough and feel proud to be a Filipino designer representing Dubai in Harbin,” he said.

Santos is known for creating haute couture masterpieces that are at par or even surpassing his contemporaries in the international fashion arena, in terms of quality, silhouette, cut, adornments and meticulous attention to details.

He has also received numerous awards for his works including the 2016 TFT Fashion Designer Award, as well as the TFT Rizal Award.

Santos’ roster of muses includes Hollywood A-Listers Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton, Colbie Caillat, Britney Spears, Tyra Banks, Nicole Scherzinger, Lady Gaga, Michelle Rodriguez, and Shakira, as well as some of the biggest names in the Philippine showbiz industry like Heart Evangelista, Coleen Garcia, and Anne Curtis to name a few.
