OFWs attempt to name popular OPM tunes

by | Lifestyle

Aug. 19, 18 | 1:19 pm

One of the most unique characteristics of Filipinos from the rest of the nationalities around the world is our capability to sing in a moment’s notice. Blessed with lovely voices that resonate to the crowds, Filipinos who frequently sing or even listen to songs have grown attuned to knowing the title of the song as well as its artist in a few notes.

With the continuous celebration of ‘Buwan ng WIka’, TFT Lifestyle TV attempts to see if OFWs are still familiar with OPM tunes spanning decades of masterful compositions. Here is the list of songs that was asked during the TFT Lifestyle TV episode:

As years go by, Filipinos will continue to create more OPM songs that share their stories of love, friendship, family, and their memories that they wish to immortalize through a song.

This case is true especially for OFWs who not only find joy in singing the old classic songs that they used to sing at the karaoke when they were still in the Philippines, but more so because of their feelings of longing to be together with loved ones back home once again.

TFT Lifestyle TV is a weekly show that tells the life stories and shares the lifestyle of OFWs based in the UAE. A new episode is shown every Friday so be sure to check the Facebook page of The Filipino Times to stay updated with each episode.
