Iron Path Ras Al Khaimah reopens in November

Craving an adrenaline rush?

Well, worry no more because Ras Al Khaimah’s (RAK) Jebel Jais Via Ferrata will be reopening for its second year on November 1.

Jebel Jais Via Ferrata, ranked among RAK’s top tourist attractions by Trip Advisor, offers a combination of climbing, trekking, and ziplining activities on the country’s highest peak: Jebel Jais.

For Dh400 each, thrill-seekers will once again be able to scale the rocky facades of Jebel Jais, which stands at 1,934 meters and has an average temperature of 10 °C.

Last year, the attraction welcomed 1,500 visitors or an average of 300 per month.

“We have already witnessed a significant interest in its return, and with the booking site launching this week, we expect to welcome a greater number of adventure travellers to Jebel Jais through 2018,” said Jorge Jorge, CEO of Toro Verde Ras Al Khaimah, the company that operates the zipline.

Additionally, the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) also expressed that they will soon launch the world’s longest zipline, which will further showcase Ras Al Khaimah’s mountain terrain and attract adrenaline seekers around the world.

“No less an authority than Lonely Planet has now described Ras Al Khaimah as ‘THE place in Arabia to get an adrenalin rush’ and that gives us credibility and confidence going forward as we build a world-class adventure tourism product leveraging the natural assets and beauty of this emirate,” RAKTDA CEO Haltham Matta said.
