Skype is retiring for these Windows versions

Microsoft is notifying its users of the retirement of certain versions of the messaging application Skype in the UAE to make way for new features that will help users, especially expats, connect better with their families abroad.

Users of the older version of Skype for Windows 7.17-7.30 will be unable to sign-in starting Monday, Khaleej Times reported.

In the new version of Skype’s app,  users can share photos and videos to individuals, in group chats, or in a new feature called Highlights, similar to Facebook Messenger’s “Stories”.

Skype also introduced the new “Skype Interviews” feature, making global hiring more efficient and cost-effective way where recruiters can interview potential new employees through Skype’s video feature.
