The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport has allocated 182 women-only parking spaces in multi-storey parking buildings in Abu Dhabi.

The parking spaces, painted in pink and white to distinguish from male-only parking slots, will help maintain the privacy of women drivers and save them time in searching for a parking spot, according to the department.

The 182 parking spaces are located in different parking buildings. There are 26 slots at the Hamdan Street behind Liwa Centre, 18 in the corniche area; 28 behind Trianon Hotel off Fatima bint Mubarak Street; 18 behind Health Authority Abu Dhabi; 26 on Liwa Street; 25 behind Al Noor Hospital on Khalifa Street; and 41 in Al Dana area, behind the offices of Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, according to Khaleej Times.

Authorities warned that pink parking spaces are exclusive to women and a Dh500 fine will be imposed on male drivers who park in those spaces.
