A rescue attempt was undertaken on Tuesday, January 17 in Abu Dhabi’s desert city of Madinat Zayed, following a glider crash that resulted in serious injuries to the pilot.
The National Search and Rescue Center, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Police, led the efforts to airlift the individual from the scene of the accident to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City for immediate medical treatment.
The incident occurred during take-off, according to the National Search and Rescue Centre. Authorities are still investigating the cause behind the incident.
