Marcos picks new AFP, PNP, NBI chiefs 

President Bongbong Marcos has named new officials under his national and security cluster including new chiefs of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation.

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz Angeles said that Medal of Valor awardee and AFP Southern Luzon commander Lt. Gen. Bartolome Vicente Bacarro will lead AFP, Lt. Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. for PNP, and Medardo De Lemos for NBI.

A graduate of the Philippine Military Academy, Bacarro was born on Sept. 18, 1966 in San Fernando, La Union. 

He graduated in the upper quartile of PMA “Maringal” Class of 1988.

Bacarro will server for three years as AFP chief as the new RA 11709 takes effect giving new chiefs a fixed three year term.

De Limos meantime is a lawyer and a senior officer of the NBI.

New PNP Chief Azurin was a graduate of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Makatao Class of 1989. He is the current commander of the Northern Luzon Command Police Area.
