Philippine Consul General in New York Elmer Cato revealed some of the possible reasons that led to the killing of Filipino lawyer John Laylo while on vacation in Philadelphia in the United States.
Cato said police sources tell them that the fatal shoot out could be a case of mistaken identity.
“The fatal shooting of Filipino lawyer John Albert Laylo could be a case of mistaken identity, according to police sources who said that the gunman appeared to have fired at the wrong vehicle that was similar to what he was chasing,” Cato said in a tweet.

Incoming Migrant Workers Chief Susan Toots Ople on the other hand commented and said that Cato should close coordinate with authorities to ensure justice to Laylo’s death.
“Please maintain a direct link with the detectives assigned to this case so the entire Philadelphia police force would know that we, JAL’s kababayans in the Philippines and around the world, are watching. Evil triumphs, when the good easily surrenders. JAL deserves justice,” Ople tweeted.

“We have a direct line to investigators and have underscored to them the importance we place on the resolution of this case. We will be seeing the mayor and hopefully the police commissioner of Philadelphia tomorrow,” Cato responded.
Laylo was shot in the head on Saturday while he and his mother are on their way to the airport.
