A Filipino and an Australian tourist were found dead in their hotel room in Boracay island on Monday, March 21.
The Malay Aklan Police said that the victims identified as 44-year-old Australian national Dennis Yu and Maria Cecilia Jellicode had injuries.
This means that their deaths could not be attributed to natural causes.
The police said they are still waiting for autopsy results to get a clearer picture of the cause of their death.

There were no indications however that someone broke into their room based on the hotel’s security footage.
“Their belongings, including cash, jewelry, laptop computers, and cellphones are intact,” the police told the Inquirer.
The police declined to reveal more information citing that the investigation is still ongoing.
The couple arrived on March 13 but extended their stay in the hotel.
Their bodies were found close to each other on the floor.
They were discovered after a staff checked on them due to their check out time.
