Abu Dhabi Police have seized 1.5 tonnes of illegal drugs hidden in pet food valued at AED 150 million that was being smuggled from one of the neighboring countries to Khalifa Port to be re-exported to a European country.
The smuggling bid was foiled by the Abu Dhabi Police in cooperation with the General Administration of Customs-Abu Dhabi. In the video, they used K-9 trackers and found over 1.5 tonnes of heroin within bags of pet food.

Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, the Anti-Narcotics Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, said that the team swung into action after receiving information about the suspicious shipment.
Al Mazrouei said that after the security information was verified, the Anti-Narcotics Department and the General Administration of Customs-Abu Dhabi formed a joint team to seize narcotics.
