Abu Dhabi worker gets AED 150,000 payout for on-duty injuries

The Abu Dhabi Family Civil and Administrative Cases Court has ordered that a worker shall be paid AED 150,000 in compensation for receiving injuries on duty.

The worker sustained various injuries and had to undergo a surgical operation. The plaintiff filed a lawsuit demanding his employer to pay him an amount of AED 200,000 as compensation for the damages he sustained and to pay the attorney’s fees.

He submitted that while he was on duty, he fell down due to the insufficient safety measures and underwent surgical operations due to the wounds he had and that his employer had fired him.

The injures had resulted in a permanent disability of 5% in the sight, 10% permanent disability in the respiratory functions after the worker had comminated fractures in the nasal bone, 10% permanent disability in the chewing, and 60% permanent disability in the upper limb.
