Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto reportedly approved the Aksyon Demokratiko party’s decision to endorse Manila Mayor Isko Moreno as its standard bearer for the 2022 elections.
Aksyon Demokratiko chairman Ernest Ramel Jr. said that Vico was among the panel who approved Isko’s endorsement. Vico however is in a tough position because his uncle Tito Sotto is running for vice president and the running mate of Senator Ping Lacson.
“Actually, he was part of the process. He was consulted, he attended one of the meetings with Mayor Isko and he asked tough questions,” Ramel said.

“He said, ‘I don’t have any problems with our presumed, at that time, presidential standard bearer,” he added.
Vico however requested to be excluded in campaign activities due to his position.
“Ang sabi niya lang sa akin, ipit siya kay Tito Sen. Yun lang ang kaniyang pakiusap na, ‘I don’t want to be involved muna diyan dahil nga maiipit siya kay Tito Sen’, and he also wants to focus on his own fight sa Pasig City,'” he added.

The party chairman remains hopeful that Vico would also help Isko in the days leading up to the elections.
“In time, we will see. Patuloy naman ‘yung aming pagkukuwentuhan at pag-e-exchange ng messages ni Mayor Vico Sotto,”Ramel said.
