President Rodrigo Duterte has slammed Public Attorney’s Office Chief Persina Acosta over her stand on the vaccination of children against COVID-19.
“For those who are against the vaccination of our children, including PAO chief Persida Acosta, kung ayaw mong magpabakuna, ikaw na lang. ‘Wag mo na idamay ang mga bata,” Duterte said in his latest speech on Monday.
“This is a suggestion coming from two Cabinet members,” he added.

The unvaccinated lawyer is spearheading the legal petition filed by two parents in Quezon City to stop the roll out of the vaccination of 5-11 years old.
Acosta said the parents want to stop the inoculation of their children to protect them from “undue experimentation.”
The petition said that they don’t want to discredit the efforts made by the Duterte administration in controlling the pandemic but they only want to protect their children.

The health department maintains that all vaccines are tested and safe for children. They also removed the provision allowing children to decide on their own.
“‘Yung mga bata ngayon dapat mabakunahan talaga for them to survive, for they constitute the next generation of Filipinos,” Duterte said.
“It is very important that you bring your children to vaccination sites and have them vaccinated,” he added.
