President Rodrigo Duterte is now undergoing quarantine after he was exposed to a household staff who tested positive for COVID-19, Malacañang announced Thursday.
Acting Presidential Spokesperson Karlo Nograles said that Duterte tested negative for the virus, but he is still following the quarantine protocols.
“The President continues to work while in quarantine, and is in constant communication with the members of the Cabinet in order to ensure that urgent matters are addressed, and to monitor the implementation of his directives,” Nograles said in a statement.
It’s unclear if the President is in his hometown in Davao City or in his Malacañang residence.
Duterte has been fully vaccinated with the Chinese brand Sinopharm.
