The UAE has extended distance learning at all public schools and universities until January 21.
Hazza Al Mansoori, spokesperson for the education sector, said pupils would continue to study remotely from January 17 – 21. All exams requiring attendance for schools and universities would be postponed until after January 28.
The move is in line with the efforts of the government to limit the spread of COVID-19 amid a spike in cases in recent weeks.
Abu Dhabi has earlier announced a week extension of remote learning for both private and public schools in the emirate until January 17.
It remains to be seen if private schools in other emirates would adopt the same move.
