An Indian woman gifted INR 10 million (AED 500,000) worth of property to a rickshaw puller who looked after her following the death of her husband and daughter. She was given a cold shoulder by her relatives.
The 63-year-old woman, Minati Patnaik, in Odisha’s Cuttack city donated her entire properties to a rickshaw puller, Budha Samal. This includes her three-storey house at Sutahat area of the city, gold ornaments, and all other assets for which she executed a will in favor of Budha.

The rickshaw puller has been serving Minati after her husband passed away in 2020 and her daughter died in 2021.
From Sambalpur, she had married Krishna Kumar Patnaik, a well-to-do person in Cuttack city and lived happily with her husband and daughter Komal before their death.
The rickshaw puller earlier served the deceased family members for 25 years.
Minati said when she was shattered and lived “in grief, none of my relatives stood by me.” “I was all alone. But, this rickshaw puller and his family were taking care of my health without any expectation,” she said.
