The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has approved placing the United Arab Emirates under the green list category, effective November 16.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque made the announcement on the updated list of Green Countries on Friday morning.
The UAE is now part of the list together with Hong Kong, India, Japan, Oman, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.
Under the IATF guidelines, travellers from green lane countries are no longer required for facility-based quarantine.
“For fully vaccinated Filipinos, they can choose facility-based quarantine until the release of a negative RT-PCR test taken in the quarantine facility upon arrival, or no facility-based quarantine after getting a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours prior to departure from the country of origin but the passenger is enjoined to self-monitor for any symptoms until the 14th day,” Roque said in a previous statement.
The UAE has been named by numerous global COVID-19 monitoring systems to have one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.

Earlier, Abu Dhabi has also included the Philippines as part of its ‘green list’, which means fully vaccinated travelers no longer need to do quarantine.
From November 7, travelers from the Philippines and 94 other countries will just have to take a PCR test upon arrival.
The Philippines is part of the new countries added to Abu Dhabi’s green list, including Algeria, Cambodia, Iran, Laos, Latvia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Romania, Slovenia, Syria and Turkey.
