Abu Dhabi Police warns the people against negligent driving. The police shared an accident video on its social media platforms while warning the people against the dangers of not obeying traffic rules while driving in the streets.
In cooperation with the Monitoring and Control Center, and as part of the “Safety Path” campaign and the “Your Comment” initiative, police broadcast a video of a driver who carried out a run-over accident at a pedestrian crossing.

The video showed a man crossing the road as a speeding pickup truck ran over the man.
Following this, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in the Central Operations Sector called on drivers to reduce speeds and give priority to pedestrians in the places designated for their crossing.
It said that the penalty for not giving priority to pedestrians in the places designated for crossing in accordance with Article (69) is a fine of AED 500 and 6 traffic points. (AW)
