Man impersonates doctor, forges documents to get AED 80,000 credit card line in Dubai

An Asian man in Dubai impersonated as a doctor procuring fake salary certificates to get an AED 80,000 credit card.

The Dubai Public Prosecution referred the person to the Criminal Court on charges of forging official documents and impersonating as a civil servant to attempt to swindle the bank of AED 80,000.

The incident came to the fore in January 2020 after a bank employee discovered that the identity of a customer was forged and the rest of his documents were invalid.

The defendant applied for opening an account to obtain a credit card from the bank by using a forged ID card and a salary transfer certificate of a medical establishment which noted that the defendant worked as a doctor for it.

The police investigations further revealed that the defendant impersonated a doctor and was dressed in an official white uniform meeting the bank’s representative to get the credit card. (AW)
