Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said that there is no truth to what her father President Rodrigo Duterte claimed that Senator Imee Marcos wants to be her running mate in the 2022 polls.
“Talks or meetings with Sen Imee for VP never happened,” Sara said in a report on GMA News.
Duterte claimed in his weekly speech that Senator Imee Marcos is also gunning for the vice presidency in the 2022 polls.

Duterte said that Imee visited his daughter Sara Duterte in Davao CIty hoping that the latter will tap her as her running mate.
“Si Imee ganito ang laro niyan eh. pinuntahan niya si Mayor Duterte sa Davao hoping na magtakbo yun siya ang maging bise. Eh hindi naman tatakbo, sabi ni Mayor Sara Duterte hindi siya magtakbo,” he said.
But Imee believes that the tandem of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and former Senator Bongbong Marcos will be a ‘marriage made in heaven’.
In an interview on ABS-CBN last week, Imee said that Bongbong would be honored to become Sara’s running mate in the next year’s polls.

“Everything’s possible but I suppose the most obvious thing is that if the Dutertes have the solid south, we’re assumed to have the solid north. Parang marriage made in heaven yan,” Imee said.
“Political wisdom says if you look at the numbers, it looks good, looks like a really solid tandem,” she added.
Bongbong has confirmed that he will run in 2022 but has yet to decide on which post. (TDT)
