The first Philippine University-built CubeSats Maya-3 and Maya-4 were launched off to the International Space Station on Sunday.
The Space Technology and Applications Mastery, Innovation, and Advancement (STAMINA4Space) Program said on Twitter that the two CubeSats have officially left Earth aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in a Dragon C208 cargo as part of the SpaceX Commercial Resupply Mission.

STAMINA4Space said updates on the docking of the Dragon cargo carrying CubeSats #Maya3 and #Maya4 will be shared on Monday.
The Maya-3 and Maya-4 are the first Philippine university-built satellites designed and developed by the first batch of scholars under the STAMINA4Space Program: Project 3 – Space Science and Technology Proliferation through University Partnerships (STeP-UP).

According to the STAMINA4Space’s website the mission of two satellites’ is to demonstrate image and video of the RGB camera and acquisition of ground data of temperature, humidity and wind speed using Store and Forward capability of the CubeSat.
The project is supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), DOST-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), Kyushu Institute of Technology, and the Philippine Space Agency. (AW)
