The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 17,447 new COVID-19 cases in the country on Friday—the second-highest new infections recorded in a single day in the country since the pandemic started.
The DOH said the new infections brought the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 1,916,461—of which 142,531 are active cases.
The DOH also recorded 17,447 new recoveries and 113 new deaths, bringing the recovery count and death toll to 1,741,089 and 32,841, respectively.

Of the active cases, the DOH said 96.2 percent are mild cases, 1.1 percent are asymptomatic, 1.1 percent are severe, 0.96 percent are moderate, and 0.6 percent are critical.
The DOH also reported that 75 percent of ICU beds, 62 percent of isolation beds, 69 percent of ward beds, and 53 percent of ventilators in the country have been utilized.
