United States President Joe Biden is set to decide on whether or not he will extend the August 31 deadline to airlift all Americans and allies to safety.
This comes as thousands of desperate Afghans wait at Kabul’s airport to escape the Taliban rule.
Biden said over the weekend that the evacuation will be hard and painful and things might go wrong along the way.

Biden committed that the US troops may stay beyond the August 31 deadline to supervise the evacuation.
In a report on Reuters, a Biden official said that he has 24 hours to decide whether to extend the timeline to give the Pentagon time to prepare.
Apart from Americans and allies it will also take days to bring home the 6,000 troops deployed to run the airlift.
