The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced the settlement of 22 collective ‘unpaid salary’ cases filed by 18,670 workers.
The settlement amounted to more than AED3.6 million, which was disbursed from June 2020 to June 2021.
The decision on the labor cases was expedited through the help of the Supreme Arbitration Committee for Collective Labor Disputes led by HE Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
MoHRE said most of the labor cases had been resolved through an amicable settlement between the workers and the employers concerned.
Private companies were told to be committed to paying the wages of their workers on time and in accordance with the employment contract.
