Abu Dhabi vaccinates over 7,000 bus, taxi drivers against COVID-19

More than 7,000 taxi and bus drivers were inoculated against COVID-19 in Abu Dhabi according to the emirate’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport.

ITC said it has completed the vaccination of 7,166 drivers last month.

It added that its 1,460 public bus drivers have received doses of COVID-19 jabs.

Moreover, 5,706 taxi drivers out of the 6,938 drivers, or 82 percent of the total number have also received the vaccine.

The vaccination campaign was initiated in coordination with the Department of Health (DoH) and Abu Dhabi Health Service Company (SEHA).

The initiative is in line with the campaign that aims to inoculate all workers in the transport sector in the UAE capital to curb the spread of COVID-19. (RA)
