Only green pass holders will be allowed to enter Abu Dhabi malls starting tomorrow

Only green pass holders will gain entry into shopping malls and large supermarkets in Abu Dhabi, which have trained their staff on the new green pass requirement besides deploying more security guards at the entrance points.

The green pass is one of three color codes reflected on the Alhosn app based on the person’s Covid-19 vaccination status and PCR test result. The other two colors are grey (PCR validity has ended); and red (PCR test result is positive).

Residents must carry a green pass on their Al Hosn app for entry to most public places and this rule comes into effect from June 15 for people aged 16 and above, Abu Dhabi authorities announced last week.

The public places covered by the green pass include: shopping malls and large supermarkets, gyms, hotels, public parks and beaches, private beaches and swimming pools, entertainment centres, cinemas, museums, and restaurants and cafes.

Mall managements will be displaying information about the new green pass requirement at the entrances, besides having trained their security teams in quick and effective in the green pass verification to avoid delays.
