Al Ain-based Filipina takes home AED1 million from Big Ticket Abu Dhabi

A Sri Lankan expat became the latest instant big millionaire when Big Ticket Abu Dhabi announced the winner of the AED15 million raffle in series 228 on June 3.

Dubai-based Rasika JDS was out that night with his colleagues when the hosts informed him about his good fortune – becoming richer by Dhs15 million – as he was the holder of ticket number 213288. For the surprised winner, the night had turned into a time of celebration of millionairehood.

The 48-years-old from Sri Lanka lives in Ras Al Khaimah since 2005 and working as a civil engineer in Dubai. His family moved back to Sri Lanka in 2015 due to financial disputes but he decided to stay in the UAE alone.

“I cannot believe I have just won AED15 million. I was struggling to cover my bank loan so now I will pay it off and bring my wife and 4 boys back to start a new life. I encourage all the Big Ticket customers to never give up, put money together and do not hesitate Big Ticket as this is really a life-changing platform if you invest, your luck will come one day like me,” he said.

Meanwhile, a Filipino expat named Kristine Bernadette Bernardo, who is based in Al-Ain, also won the second prize of AED1 million through her ticket number 317768.

Another overseas Filipino worker named Mark Andres also won 4th prize that comes with AED 90,000. His lucky number was 043930.

Indian expat Muhhammed Fahadh won AED 100,000 with his ticket number 123205, while another Indian expat Simi Soy won 80,000 dirham for her ticket number 217556.
