Frontline workers – who were battling the COVID-19 pandemic outside the country and have been stranded there due to the ban on flights from certain countries – are urging the authorities to allow them to return to the UAE.
The workers urged the UAE authorities to allow the return of frontline workers who had received COVID-19 jabs, and could even quarantine them upon arrival in the country.
Many UAE residents were spending their vacation in their home countries when the UAE announced a travel ban on passengers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
Healthcare workers continue to be in high demand since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic last year and many medical facility operators have expanded their operations and workforce, especially for hiring nurses, according to Khaleej Times.
One registered nurse, who is a UAE resident and front-line nurse in Dubai, expressed concern about losing her job there as she was now stranded in India where she had gone on vacation.
