Malacanang said President Rodrigo Duterte will be “leaving it up to God” whether he will run for vice president in the 2022 national elections or not.
“I think I will quote the President, he leaves it to God,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in an online briefing.
Roque previously said that Duterte is currently focused on the government’s vaccination program.
Some members of the ruling party PDP have been urging Duterte to run for the second top post after his term in 2022.
Duterte’s former aide Senator Bong Go and his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte were rumored to run in the upcoming presidential polls.
