PH administered over 2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine – DOH

The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday announced that the Philippines has administered more than 2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines

DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said 320,586 individuals were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 while 1,744,649 received their first dose.

“Karamihan doon ang ating frontline workers, ang ating mga A1,” Cabotaje said in a televised briefing referring to health workers.

The health official said over 250,000 healthcare workers have completed the two doses while 1.1 million have their first dose of the vaccine.

Cabotaje added that the vaccine rollout for frontline personnel in essential sectors had kickstarted last May 1 with 7,342 individuals receiving their first shot.

Meanwhile, the rollout of the 15,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine already started in the National Capital Region.

“Nagsimula tayo magbakuna kahapon, may naitala po tayong 2,634 na nabakunahan ng Sputnik V,” she said.
