Earlier closure of all commercial activities in Oman to begin on March 4

Authorities in the Sultanate of Oman approved the early closure now of all commercial activities beginning March 4 until March 20.

They will now close from 8pm to 5am.

Those who will adhere to the new precautionary measures include restaurants, cafes and home delivery services.

Authorities, however, clarified that gas stations, health institutions and private pharmacies will be exempted from these restrictions.

The authorities also approved the continuation of distance learning gor a week – from March 7 to March 11 – for students in public schools.

This will be subject to evaluation based on any updates of the situation.

According to the Supreme Committee, these necessary measures were taken for the people’s safety against the Covid-19 outbreak, especially the new strain.

It urged members of the public to adhere to mandatory preventive measures to protect their families, especially oldee people, children and people with chronic health issues. (ES)
