WATCH: Talabat riders line up to get COVID-19 jab

Riders of the popular food delivery app Talabat took off their helmets and lined up at a COVID-19 vaccination center spearheaded by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company to get their first dose.

“We are extremely fortunate to be in a country where the vaccine is so widely available. The UAE has done a fantastic job in putting in place an infrastructure and bringing the vaccine and this is why we strongly encourage (employees and riders) to actually benefit from this opportunity and get the vaccine,” said “Jérémy Doutté, Vice President of TalabatUAE, in a video posted at the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office.

Moustafa Jamal, one of the riders to took his first jab, shared that he did so in order to protect himself and his loved ones from the virus as he performs his job of delivering food throughout the emirate.

“If there’s anything to do to lower the risks, I choose to take the vaccine for my safety, as well as for my friends, restaurants, and customers,” said Jamal.

Doutté states that their aim is to ensure the safety of their riders as well as each of their customers and to break the chain of infection to curb the spread of COVID-19.

“The riders are the backbone of Talabat. They are the people who constantly visit the restaurants and customers. It is our responsibility to encourage everyone in our company to get the vaccine to break the chain of contamination,” said Doutté.
