Filipinos in UAE hail Abu Dhabi’s recognition as ‘Safest City in the World’ for fifth consecutive year

Filipinos working and living in the UAE have praised Abu Dhabi as it ranked at the top of Numbeo’s list as the ‘Safest City in the World’ for 2021.

This marks Abu Dhabi’s fifth consecutive year at the top of the list.

Meanwhile, Sharjah and Dubai ranked 6th and 7th, with safety index ratings of 83.59 and 83.44 respectively.

Netizens praised Abu Dhabi for its commitment to ensuring the safety of its residents 24/7.

“I have lived for at least 20 years in Abu Dhabi. Even during the wee hours of the morning when I get home from my night shift, I never felt threatened or afraid to go home. Abu Dhabi is my home now,” said Norman Ocampo at The Filipino Times’ Facebook page.

“Maganda talaga dyan, safe kahit maglakad ka sa Corniche ng madaling araw, safe pa rin,” said another netizen.

They also cited the government’s assistance especially amid the pandemic, ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to securing food, COVID-19 testing, and most recently, receiving the COVID-19 vaccine free of charge.

“I am thankful that Abu Dhabi is a safe place to live in, especially now that we’re still under the COVID-19 crisis. Abu Dhabi has provided free food, COVID-19 testing and now we have the free vaccine as well. Mabrook to our government leaders for this achievement!” said a netizen.
