The 59th Inaugural Ceremonies were done at the West Front of the Capitol.
Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts swore in Biden as the 46th President of the United States.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice, swore in Harris as the first woman, first woman of color, the first Black person and the first South Asian to be Vice President.
Former presidents Barack Obama, George Bush, and Bill Clinton were present to personally witness the inauguration.
Former vice president Mike Pence also attended the event, but former president Donald Trump was on his way to Florida while the ceremony was ongoing.
Lady Gaga, clad in a black and red gown, soulfully sang the national anthem, which was met with applause after. Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez also performed in the inauguration. (ES)
