Comparing to England’s Queen Elizabeth II, Malacañang said that President Rodrigo Duterte may follow her steps by taking the coronavirus vaccine in private.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said he asked the President last night about receiving the first vaccine shots that will arrive in the country.
“His answer was, ‘No problem, I will take the vaccine as soon as it is available’ dahil siya nga daw po ay kailangan niyang magkaroon ng bakuna,” Roque told the media in a briefing.
“Pero ang sabi niya, hindi na kinakailangan ipakita ito sa publiko,” Duterte told Roque.
Roque said that the President is taking the route of the English royals to take their vaccine shots in private.
The Palace spokesperson has denied that the President already took the vaccine together with the Presidential Security Group.
The PSG was in hot waters for taking unregistered COVID-19 vaccines, even without the approval of the Food and Drug Administration. (TDT)
