The UAE has given over 2 million doses of the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccine to date, authorities announced on January 19.
Official data released on Tuesday showed that 93,846 doses of the vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of doses administered to 2.06 million, Khaleej Times reported.
The net dose rate is 20.88 per 100 people, the report added.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, confirmed the recent figure when he delivered the opening address of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which was done virtually or via online streaming.
The minister pointed out that during the pandemic, the global supply chains were tested like never before.
The minister, however, stressed that the UAE leadership turned challenges into opportunity, which helped the country lead the vaccination drive, the report added. (CC)
