Residents in Ras Al Khaimah are advised not to head towards public viewing areas to watch fireworks displays this New Year’s Eve with the announcement of temporary closures of selected areas.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police General Headquarters announced that Al Marjan Island’s public viewing platforms will be closed for the New year’s celebrations this year.

“Public viewing platforms at Al Marjan Island in Al Hamra are closed,” advised authorities in accordance with the preventive measures set by the UAE government.
Authorities advise the public to avoid grouping and to watch the fireworks displays via social media channels and through the website: www.raknye.com as an alternative.
The Organising Committee for Ras Al Khaimah New Year’s Eve Celebrations has announced its preparations for welcoming 2021, with a focus on ensuring public safety in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic. The event includes fireworks in various shapes and themes rising above the sea near Al Marjan Island, over a 4km stretch, in tune with special musical arrangements for a total of 10 minutes to welcome the New Year.
#RAKNYE2021 will be held without public activities or viewing areas to ensure the safety of the public, while adhering to social distancing protocols.
