UAE delegation to visit family of deceased Filipino nurse

A delegation from the UAE is set to visit the family of a deceased Filipina nurse Lezly Orine Ocampo, who served and helped the UAE in the country’s fight against the coronavirus disease.

Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, H.E. Ambassador Hjayceelyn M. Quintana (4th from left) met with the 5-member delegation from the Crown Prince’s Court and the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) prior to their departure. The delegation has arrived in the Philippines as of December 27.

Earlier, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, personally called Julius Concepcion, the husband of Ocampo, to express his sincerest condolences to Julius and his appreciation of Lezly’s sacrifice to the nation.

“And if there’s anything we can do or help, don’t hesitate because of what she has done for us…[inaudible],” said His Highness.

Ocampo was supposed to visit her child in the Philippines, but couldn’t due to travel restrictions. Instead, she devoted her time as a medical frontliner in the Gulf state.

Amb. Quintana conveyed her gratitude and praised the UAE leadership for the noble purpose of the delegation’s mission to honor the valiance of Ocampo’s service as a nurse frontliner in the capital during the height of the pandemic.
