Fujairah bans camping this winter until further notice

Fujairah has announced that it will be banning all types of camps, tents and caravans until further notice, as per the latest announcement from the emirate’s crises, emergencies and disasters management committee.

Major-General Mohamed Ahmad bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, commander-in-chief of the Fujairah Police and head of the disasters management committee in Fujairah, stated that the move will aid the emirate’s precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Fujairah is one of the UAE’s popular spots for campers, especially during the cooler winter months.

The ban will affect individuals who have already made plans to head towards the tourist camp destination in the emirate but Maj-Gen Al Kaabi states that they will be constantly monitoring the area for residents who will be caught violating the said measure.
