Dubai Police on October 24 has warned beachgoers to follow the regulations against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) especially as the country enters the winter season.

In an advisory video released on their Twitter page, authorities called on the public to ensure safety at all times when going to the beach as the country continues its fight against the pandemic.

Among the measures include wearing a mask, observing social distancing of at least two meters, and limiting gatherings to five people only, except for families.

The police also stressed that those caught not wearing masks or gathering in large groups will be fined AED3,000.

“Because your safety is important to us, we ask you to follow the precautionary measures when going to the beaches of the emirate. Co-operate with us to ensure your safety,” Dubai Police said on Twitter.

Earlier, authorities noted that some 721 beachgoers have been caught violating the regulations between May 29 and September 20.
