The Philippine Embassy in Lebanon has announced that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who availed the government’s repatriation program yet did not show up on the scheduled flight will be blacklisted.
They will no longer be allowed to join future mass repatriation flights as well.
In a statement, the embassy said, “Ang pag-back out at pag-atras sa flight kapag ikaw ay naaprubahan na at nabayaran na iyong mga multa, at ang pagiging no-show or hindi pagsipot sa araw ng flight ay malaking pagsasayang sa pondo ng bayan.”
The Department of Foreign Affairs has so far repatriated 386 Filipinos from Lebanon on August 17.
The chartered flight was arranged following the deadly blast in Beirut last month.
Around 400 Filipinos were scheduled to come home but some of them were ‘no show’ during the flight.
There are about 31,000 Filipinos in Lebanon.
