Global COVID-19 cases surpass 21 million; death toll now at 753K

The number of confirmed COVID-19 infection cases in the world has surpassed the 21 million-mark, according to information compiled by Worldometer.

As of August 14, the confirmed cases in the world has reached 21,079,305 people.

Some 13,911,378 COVID-19 patients have recovered while the number of deaths has reached 753,451.

As for confirmed coronavirus cases, USA leads globally with 5,415,66. It is followed by Brazil (3,229,621), India (2,459,613), Russia (907,758), South Africa (572 865).

The Philippines is at 22nd in the list.

The actual number of infected people is believed to be larger, because in many countries tests are performed only in the most serious cases.
