GOOD NEWS: UAE lifts entry permit for returning expats, residents

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) on Wednesday announced that expats stranded abroad will no longer have to secure entry permits to be able to fly to the UAE.

Automatic approval will be granted to those wishing to return, according to the decision released by the ICA and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA)

Passengers must still present a negative PCR COVID-19 test result issued not more than 96 hours by government-accredited laboratories.

Returning residents are urged to update their travel documents such as passport and personal data on the website link https://uaeentry.ica.gov.ae link for the verification of their travel documents before flight.

All other precautionary measures in travelling to the country remain in place.

The ICA has earlier gave a month extension for holders of expired entry permits and visas from August 11 to leave the country and be exempted from paying fines.
